Miniweb Brings Woomi, The Video Content Connected TV Marketplace, To NATPE 2011

Connected TV destination, woomi offers global Connected TV audience to publishers

London, January 19 2010 - Miniweb, the leading cloud-based video distribution platform for connected TVs, announced today that woomi (www.woomi.tv http://twitter.com/woomitv) the new connected TV destination, will be on show during NATPE, January 25-27, Miami, Florida.  The company will showcase how woomi helps online and video content publishers extend their reach, maximize their audience and generate new advertising and transactional revenues.

"We are not streaming video or acquiring rights but are acting as an agent or retailer enabling our content partners to keep their brand identity and business model, and promote and monetize their content on as many TVs as possible." said Jerome de Vitry, CEO, Miniweb. “Instead of giving consumers a PC-like web experience on their TV set or just a limited array of content, woomi offers a differentiated position by offering an easy to use, TV-centric user experience across multiple video content publishers and multiple devices, and by putting the publishers in control.”

Woomi already has collaboration agreements with BoxOffice365, The Sailing Channel, Playboy, OpenFilm, Blinkx, Videojug, Q3030, Preview Networks, EZTakes and Renderyard, who will distribute content through woomi, to millions of connected devices around the world.

Woomi predicts it will be available on over half of the world’s connected TVs by mid 2011. Going live across all Samsung smart TVs and Blu-ray players in the UK this month, woomi will then roll out to multiple European territories and the U.S. within the next three months. Also recently announced are global distribution deals with Vestel, a Turkish white-label TV manufacturer, and with Chinese STB manufacturer, DTM.

“To mature and evolve the rapidly expanding connected TV marketplace, video publishers need to increase their distribution and maximize the monetization of their programmes, while simplifying the consumer discovery and purchase processes. This is what we are here for.” adds Jerome de Vitry.

By registering their content with woomi, publishers get immediate access to an exponentially expanding base of consumers with woomi-enabled TV devices. Woomi gives them total control and the ability to personalize the user experience with their brand and business models, and offers them a complete monetization solution through either single-click secure end-user payments or advertising.

Woomi provides an effective solution for TV device manufacturers and operators looking to expand video content to hundreds of publishers on connected TVs, set top boxes, Blu-ray players and gaming consoles. The system is enhanced with user-friendly functions such as search, discovery, recommendations, personalization and single click payment.  Woomi allows TV device manufacturers and operators to capitalize on Miniweb’s existing and future global content partnerships and delivers a compelling, connected online video experience to their customers.
