Miniweb Shortlisted for Best New Startup in Light Reading, Leading Lights Awards
PRESS RELEASE - Miniweb, the Interactive Service Provider that is enabling targeted, web-style advertising and interactivity on TV, today announces that it has been shortlisted in the Best New Startup category in this year’s Leading Lights Awards, which are awarded by Light Reading, the respected source for telecom and communications industry news. Miniweb allows broadcasters, network operators, content owners and advertisers to easily and cost effectively deliver new services that monetise viewer see, search and spend actions. The company’s Interactive Service Platform makes it easy to re-purpose and successfully deploy internet content as an interactive TV service. Miniweb has also produced the tools and templates that make it easy and quick to design, build and publish interactive TV Sites with low cost author-once publishing and automated deployment for maximum viewer reach.
“We are delighted to be shortlisted in the Leading Lights Awards and proud that our potential as a company to deliver a global, converged broadcast and broadband entertainment experience is being further recognised,” comments Andrew Carver, CEO of Miniweb. “We have a unique and powerful service offering and are already providing interactive TV capability to over 9 million homes.”
In September Miniweb announced a significant funding round, securing access to US$32 million of venture capital investment. The funding enables Miniweb to invest in the additional resources it needs to deliver its interactive broadcast and broadband TV vision to customers and partners worldwide.
This award nomination follows the announcement in April of Miniweb as a Red Herring Europe 100 winner, recognition as one of the most promising private companies driving the future of TV and video services.
Light Reading's Leading Lights Awards, established in 2004, is a highly respected industry award programme through which top companies and their executives are recognised for their outstanding achievements in the communications industry.
